About Us

Enhancing the Deliciousness
with the Bounties of Kamaishi's Sea

In order to deliver the fresh and delicious seafood treasures of Sanriku Kamaishi to the entire country in a safe and secure manner, we are continuously engaging in various endeavors. These include collaborating with universities, national and local governments, and businesses to develop and implement advanced technologies, as well as creating brand products that showcase the uniqueness of the region.
We process locally caught, high-quality seafood using state-of-the-art equipment, and we develop products that draw inspiration from local fishermen's dishes and traditional cuisine from around the world.
Furthermore, we are also focusing on valuable untapped fisheries resources and making efforts to utilize unused resources in line with consumer needs and the marine environment.
Protecting the ocean, expressing gratitude to the sea, listening to its voice, and developing products that sincerely utilize its resources are our important roles.

Bringing smiles to our customers and the community.

On March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake caused significant damage to our town of Karakuwa in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, where I reside. Hearing the voices of many locals, I strongly believed that the revival of the local fishing industry was crucial for our community. With this conviction, I made the decision to establish a seafood processing company, setting goals of "revitalizing the fishing industry," "providing regular employment for disaster victims," and "developing young talent." Despite the challenges we faced, with the support and connections of many individuals, we were able to establish the first new company in Iwate Prefecture just five months after the disaster. The following year, in July, we successfully launched our processing facility. Our mission is to enhance the value of Kamaishi's seafood and deliver delicious local fish and seafood products to everyone. To achieve this, we are actively engaged in various endeavors, including technological and product development to ensure freshness. Moving forward, we will continue contributing to local employment and promoting the "deliciousness" of Kamaishi nationwide.

Kamaishi Hikari Foods will continue to strive as a seafood processing manufacturer that brings smiles to our customers and community. We are committed to embracing new challenges in pursuit of this goal.
